Bang Parking Guide

So, you want to drive to Bang but you can’t park just anywhere. Here’s a little guide.

A wide panorama of the new Bang gym space, with floor mats and stability balls on one side and squat racks, benches, and free weights on the other, under tall windows and exposed ductwork.

Why not right in front!?

I know, I know. If you attend our morning sessions – and particularly if you’re in for 6:30 AM, it seems like we’re just not making use of the space in front of Bang. If driving is your go-to form of transportation, this will seem frustrating because cities are built around cars – with parking as a fundamental consideration. However, I believe there’s a higher purpose to that space than parking. We are working on it and I hope to have updates soon.

In the meantime…

Parking out front is available to anyone with a disability. That doesn’t have to be an official designation, by the way Any one of us can (and probably will) experience injury or serious pain.

Finally, if you’ve tried everything else and are still stuck, we still want you to make your session without undue stress. So, until further notice, I want to welcome you to use it as an emergency parking spot between 6:30 and 10 AM. But we ask you to (pretty) please check out the other options first – and to leave at least one space open for anyone less able-bodied.

Other parking options

Walnut (south of King): 10 AM until late

After 10 AM, it’s easy. There’s free one-hour parking on Walnut Ave – *right in front of Bang.* Perfect for evening afternoon/evening workouts. If Walnut is full during the daytime, Tecumseth, one street east, has the same options.

I’ll let you in on a little secret: a bunch of people park here before 10 and (almost) all of them have made it this far without a ticket. If you want to take this semi-risky strategy for a spin, we’ll pay for your first ticket (in 2026).

Stafford Street: Anytime

This one’s the top choice for any early sessions. There is free 2-hour parking on Stafford Street, one street west of Stanley Park, between King and Wellington. It’s a 4 or 5-minute walk, but it also seems to be your safest bet if you’re not (car) door to door within 60-minutes.

Walnut (north of King): 7 AM until late
You can park from 7 AM until midnight on Walnut, north of King. Google Maps has this as a five-minute walk IF you play it safe and cross at the crosswalk on Niagara. That’s our official advice.

Technically, permit-only parking ends at 7 AM and paid parking begins at 8 AM, so there’s a free hour in there… or something like a half-hour if you’re coming for a 7:30 AM session. Anyway, keep 4367 cued up on your Green P app.stafford

UPark: 6 AM (or earlier) until 8 AM

There are a few paid options out there. Most of them aren’t worth mentioning, The notable exception is UPark, which you enter from Tecumseth – just south of King. It’s a $5 flat, overnight rate anytime up until 8 AM. After that, it’s $5/hr.
