Careers at Bang Personal Training

We’re looking for thoughtful coaches who want to get very good at helping real people become stronger, more capable, and more confident.

Who thrives here

Strong candidates may be:

  • Curious about strength training, movement, and coaching craft
  • Comfortable working with beginners, not just athletes
  • Capable of thinking in months and years, instead of just days and weeks
  • Lifelong learners who are generous with their knowledge
  • Patient, observant, and detail-oriented
  • Open to feedback and ongoing development
  • Persistent in creating a calm, inclusive, and friendly-but-focused training environment

How 1-1 and Group Personal Training work for coaches

Bang is a Toronto-based personal training studio specializing in small-group personal training, strength education, and long-term development. We work with people who want expert coaching, a calm environment, and training that will have a positive impact on how they move and engage with exercise for the rest of their lives.

Group Personal Training (GPT) offers a 5-1 member to coach ratio, which requires you to develop expert skills in coaching, cueing, and program design. However, Rome and/or great Romanian deadlifts aren’t built in a day, so we help you build those skills over time. Here, coaches typically work in blocks of four hours.

1-1 has a great deal in common with GPT but scheduling can vary quite a bit more. We work with independent personal trainers whose values align with ours.

We excel at working with brand new exercisers, post-rehab (people who have been through a formal rehab process but still need support), and folks who are looking to develop a personally meaningful exercise practice. Those interested in athletic development are also expected to develop the skills to work with competitive athletes.

“The culture here is very different. It’s very inclusive, which is something I want to be a part of and want to promote.”
